Earlier this month, we had over 100 people attend our free size-inclusive clothing swap. Thank you to everyone who attended!
Together, we were able to keep garments out of landfills. We also donated over 200 items to a local women and girls' shelter.
Looking Forward:
We are actively planning Sustainable Fashion Week (plus other events leading up to our namesake programming) and would love for you to consider joining us!
1) Become A Member
SFW Chicago Members are volunteers who develop the programming for the flagship event and other sustainable fashion programs. This opportunity is especially great for students looking to gain experience, build their portfolio, or for creatives/professionals/ individuals interested in developing and sharing their skills for the greater good. No prior sustainability or fashion experience is necessary. Members are expected to commit to 5 hours monthly for a 1-year term. Apply now.
We're actively searching for volunteer models for the fashion show this fall. All sizes and abilities are welcome to apply!
3) Fashion Show Participation
We are in search of sustainable designers and brands to participate in this year’s fashion show. There is a $300 participation fee. Submit your application.
4) Class, Workshop, Or Specialty Events Partnership
We offer a mix of free and paid events during Sustainable Fashion Week. If you'd like to partner on an event (with split payment models), please get in touch.
We are particularly interested in partnering if you can:
- Lead a sewing or mending class
- Co-host a size-inclusive clothing swap
- Participate in our sustainable fashion careers panel

We're searching for folks interested in writing for our blog. Specifically on eco-fashion trends, local sustainable fashion resources, and opinions.
